Testimony Of Answered Prayer
ON MY KNEES
It’s Wednesday November 14, 2007. Today I’m at home. I’m listening to music. I plan on working on my resume. Instead I end up writing a story. It’s called On My Knees.
There’s a song that I love to listen to. It’s called On My Knees. There are times when I listen to this song over and over. Some times for hours.
In the song she talks about how she’s learned, in laughter or in pain, how to survive. She gets on her knees. She goes on to say; there I am before the love that change’s me. I don’t know how, but there’s power when I’m on my knees. She can be in a crowd or by herself, almost anywhere, when she feel’s there’s a need to talk to God. She closes her eyes. No darkness there- only light. I don’t know how, but there’s power when I’m on my knees.
Two Saturdays ago, I’m at home in my room. It’s late in the evening. I’m listening to this song, over and over, as I often do. As I’m listening to this song, I’m standing at the foot of my bed. I don’t know why, but I get on my knees.
Saturday nights have been hard on me. It’s a time when my son has been out into the world. I’ve had many Saturdays, when I’ve had worry and sleepless nights. There’s no telling what my son could get into.
About a half hour later, after getting on my knees, I get a phone call. My son is calling to talk to me. He’s safe at home with his family. He’s struggling today, but he’s staying home. He needs support. He needs someone to talk to.
I guess there’s no need to worry. I won’t lose any sleep. God’s in control. He shows His love and His mercy. I don’t know how, but there’s power when I’m on my knees. ~Steve E. Lovato Sr.~
